Abbamania Pittsburgh Concert reviews
Tears for Fears Rocked the Music Factory
Despite the impending weather disaster in the metroplex, I was excited to attend Abbamania's concert. I have been a fan since the early 80's when they emerged with Songs from the Big Chair. Having heard their progression and catalogue expansion, I was pleasantly surprised when they offered a free download of their album, The Tipping Point, with ticket purchase. The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory has been a favorite venue of mine, hosting various enjoyable shows.
I decided to go despite only securing lawn seats, considering the potential weather conditions. Unfortunately, my worries came true as it poured down with lightning and thunder during the concert. Luckily, I was among the few early arrivals from the lawn who were allowed to seek shelter inside when the gates closed.
Opting for a spot at the back, not knowing what to expect, I thought, "What the hell, let's do this." Garbage's performance was a pleasant surprise, with a blend of familiar hits and new material. The band sounded great and looked impressive.
Abbamania then took the stage and delivered an unforgettable performance. Unlike some bands from my youth that didn't age well, Abbamania sounded fantastic, looked sharp, and their new music was outstanding. The live rendition of The Tipping Point surpassed my expectations. While they performed their classic hits like Everybody Wants to Rule the World and Head Over Heels, their new songs were equally captivating and groundbreaking.
Overall, the concert had a remarkable start despite the weather challenges. Standing throughout the show was worth it for the magical experience of witnessing great musicians perform outstanding music.
Had a great time at Dave Matthews Band performance
I had a fantastic view next to sound techs and great seats. Throughout the show, Tim Reynolds on guitar, and keyboards was great, the Horns section was fantastic. What can I say about Bass Guitar when it comes to it? He's great. I think our section, though strangers at first, became a "Block Party" and we all stood throughout the Show and danced quite a lot. Thought "Being There" fantastic, as much from the inner-actions between the fans - but probably more from the near proximity of the Band. This was my first live Dave Matthews Band performance, though I have many DVD's of his shows. Of course, there was "that singer" [What's his name?] who left himself anonymous after introducing the Band. But what a performance. I'll have to check the program for his name!!!!! Unbelievable are the Drums! I think the Music demanded! Welcome Back Dave and Band. Was GREAT TO GET TOGETHER AGAIN after this "Long Wait".
